I started sewing and quilting over 35 years ago under the tutelage of my Grandmother. After high school I attended Virginia Tech, earning a BS degree in Home Economics education. After graduation I taught Home Economics in Calvert County, MD for many years. I first started using my sewing skills informally to earn some extra income in college and then as a new mother I took on interior decorating projects to supplement my family’s income. Now, as my children have grown, I have decided to make Sew Creative by Heidi my full time endeavor. I offer a wide variety of services and products but my specialty is quilting. You can find me many weekends at craft shows all throughout the Mid- Atlantic or attending quilt conferences, but the majority of my business time is spent in my studio located in Lusby, MD. There you will find me working on projects commissioned by my customers. I might be teaching clients to sew, altering a garment, quilting and binding a quilt top made by a client or designing and constructing a specialty quilt for someone. My quilting skills have been perfected by many years of sewing and quilting. I look forward to working with you to create the perfect “Work of Heart”.
